HOW DOES LOW VOLTAGE DISCONNECT WORK?
The Low voltae disconnect(LVD) prevents excessive battery discharge and protects electric appliances against over-voltage.
The LVD monitors the voltage of the battery. If the battery stays under thedisconnect level (eg. 11.0V DC) longer than 15 seconds, the alarm contact will be activated. The unit will disconnect the electric equipment when the situation does not change within a minute. At the same time the alarm contact will turn off. When the battery voltage rises againthe equipment will be connected again automatically as soon as the voltage reaches the Switch-ON level (eg. 13.0V DC). At an over-voltage, by example on account of a bad alternator, the equipment will be disconnected also to prevent damage to the equipment. The alarm will be activated on and off for a minute.
*ATTENTION! All connections should be via a fuse (value equal to the rated current of LVD).
